  • Consent: When you visit our website, we ask you for your informed consent to accept cookies that are not functional cookies, pursuant to the rules on cookies. You can withdraw your consent for cookies at any time.

 

How long do we store your data?

We share the personal data with suppliers of different services (data processors), which process the personal data on behalf of Universe and in accordance with our instructions. For example, we use data processors to supply IT systems, software, support or consultancy services.

 

3. If you buy a ticket or season pass

 

What data do we collect and process about you?

When you use our online shop, we process your personal data. We can collect, process and store the following types of personal data about you:

 

  • Your name, email address, telephone number and address
  • Your payment information Universe does not have access to your full credit card information.
  • Information on your order/purchase history
  • Information you submit when you carry out a purchase or communicate in some other way with us
  • Use of discount codes
  • Digital footprints, technical data and click history (e.g. information on how you use Universe's online shop or location information, either from your mobile device or IP address)

 

What is the purpose of processing your data?

Your personal data will be processed for the following purposes:

 

  • Processing orders on Universe's online shop
  • Administration of orders, complaints, returns
  • Administration of tickets and season passes
  • Administration of user account/profile
  • Sending marketing materials without consent on the basis of previous purchases with us when we choose to exercise this option in the Danish Marketing Practices Act (markedsføringsloven)
  • Statistics and analysis
  • Prevention and investigation of suspicion of fraud

 

On what legal basis do we process your data?

Universe processes your personal data on the following bases:

 

  • Legitimate interests: We process your personal data on the basis of our legitimate interest in marketing ourselves to you in cases where consent is not needed as well as our legitimate interest in compiling statistics and performing analyses so as to develop and improve our services (Article 6 (1) (f) of the General Data Protection Regulation).
  • Contractual obligations: We process your personal data so as to fulfil the sales agreement we concluded with you, including so we can provide ordered tickets, season passes and/or other services and products, handle order confirmations, complaints, returns, etc. (Article 6 (1) (b) of the General Data Protection Regulation).

 

How long do we store your data?

Personal data registered in connection with purchases at Universe's online shop will be retained for up to 6 years. This period has been determined on the basis of the retention requirement in Section 12 of the Danish Bookkeeping Act (bogføringsloven).

However, the data can be processed and stored longer in anonymised form or if we are so required pursuant to legislation.

 

With whom do we share your data?

We share the personal data with suppliers of different services (data processors), which process the personal data on behalf of Universe and in accordance with our instructions. For example, we use data processors to supply IT systems, software, support or consultancy services.

We can also share your data with banks and suppliers of payment solutions, accountants, lawyers and other advisors as well as public authorities when so required by law.

 

4. If you sign up to our newsletter and other marketing initiatives

 

What data do we collect and process about you?

Universe collects, processes and stores your personal data for use in marketing when you sign up to our newsletter and other marketing initiatives. We can collect, process and store the following types of personal data about you:

  • Name, email address, telephone number and address
  • Your consent
  • Your click history in relation to the issued material
  • Your use of our website and services, such as participation in competitions and online purchases, including purchasing event tickets, etc.
  • Order history, including any previous correspondence
  • Your preferences, e.g. preferred events at Universe

What is the purpose of processing your data?

Your personal data can be processed for the following purposes:

  • Focused marketing, including by sending personalised APP Push messages, text messages, emails and newsletters from Universe including current member benefits and offers, information about events as well as discounts and advantages that can be obtained at Universe's partners. You can find an overview of Universe's current partners at https://universe.dk/billetter-og-priser/s%C3%A6sonkortfordele. It will always be Universe that sends the offers on behalf of its partners.
  •  We use your personal data for focused advertising, including retargeting campaigns, on selected websites and social media platforms.
  • Universe uses a system for guest profiling so as to assess the likelihood of renewal of season passes and for grouping into guest segments. The data is used by Universe to provide the best information possible to the holder of a season pass concerning activities and offers at the park as well as to customise the park and its offer for the season pass holders and our other guests.
  •  Analysis and statistics

On what legal basis do we process your data?

We process your personal data according to one or more the bases below:

  • Legitimate interests: Processing your personal data in connection with analyses and statistics is based on our legitimate interest in being able to improve and develop our services (Article 6 (1) (f) of the General Data Protection Regulation).
  • Consent: We use your personal data for direct marketing, including sending newsletters or other forms of electronic mail, providing you gave your prior and express consent in this regard (Section 10 (1) of the Danish Marketing Practices Act and Article 6 (1) (a) of the General Data Protection Regulation).

How long do we store your data?

Your personal data will be stored for as long as your consent to receive newsletters is active.

If you no longer wish to receive these emails and newsletters you can unsubscribe by sending an email to info@Universe.dk or by clicking "Unsubscribe" at the bottom of the newsletter. If you no longer want to receive push messages in the Universe app, you can always change this in the settings on your smart phone. However, withdrawal of consent does not affect the legality of the processing that took place beforehand.

We will retain documentation of your consent under marketing law for two years from the time you withdrew your consent to receive direct marketing materials. The retention period has been established on the basis of Universe's legitimate interest in being able to document that direct marketing took place pursuant to applicable legislation (Article 6 (1) (f) of the General Data Protection Regulation).

We will share your date with third parties in conjunction with marketing providing that you have consented thereto.

 

5. If you contact Universe

 

What data do we collect and process about you?

When you contact Universe's customer service or communicate with us in a different context, we collect and process the data you submit. We collect, process and store the following Which data do we collect and process about you? about you:

  • The subject of your enquiry, e.g. orders and payment information
  • Date of your enquiry
  • Other information that you submit in connection with your enquiry. We encourage you not to submit sensitive personal data such as your civil registration number to us unless strictly necessary for the processing of your enquiry. If you send sensitive data or your civil registration number by email, the information should be strongly encrypted.

What is the purpose of processing your data?

  • Provide general customer service and handle your enquiry and any orders

  • Observance of any rights or GDPR enquiries

We process your personal data on the bases outlined below. The basis depends on the nature of your enquiry.

  • Legitimate interests: We can process your personal data on the basis of our legitimate interest in handling your enquiry, communicate with you and develop our products and services (Article 6 (1) (f) of the General Data Protection Regulation).
  • Contractual obligations: if your enquiry concerns the (potential) conclusion of an agreement, we will process your data to be able to implement measures ahead of the conclusion of the agreement (Article 6 (1) (b) of the General Data Protection Regulation).

 

How long do we store your data?

As a rule, general enquiries are kept for 12 months.

Accounting materials, including personal data that we are required to store pursuant to the Danish Bookkeeping Act (bogføringsloven) will be kept for up to 6 years.

 

With whom do we share your data?

We will not share your data with other companies, however inter alia, we use data processors for providing IT systems and associated support. When we use data processors, we enter into data processor agreements with the data processors so as to ensure that your personal data is only processed for that purpose and in a secure manner.

 

6. If you visit our park

When you visit our park, Universe processes your personal data. We process your personal data in conjunction with video surveillance of the park, your registrations in connection with using your wristband, and we may take pictures at the attractions and other atmospheric images from the park.

 

What data do we collect and process about you?

When you visit our park, Universe processes your personal data. We can collect, process and store the following types of personal data about you:

  • Date and time of your visit, e.g. if you scan a season pass or ticket
  • Photo and video material in connection with video surveillance
  • Name, contact information and other information you submit in connection with reservations
  • Your picture in connection with photos of experiences and other atmospheric images.
  • Information about the activities and experiences that you registered on your personal wristband during your visit to Universe

 

What is the purpose of processing your data?

When arriving at Universe, you will be provided with a personal wristband. The wristband works as an access ticket to the park and the park's most popular activities. In addition, personal "memories", points and other results can be saved from the day. Your personal data will be processed for the following purposes:

  • To support the functionality of the wristband as described above.
  • To administrate your visit with us
  • To ensure safety at the park
  • To prevent and solve crime
  • To manage reservations and provide service to parties
  • To provide our guests with a good experience and good service
  • General information on marketing
  • Statistics and analysis

 

On what legal basis do we process your data?

Universe processes your personal data on the following bases:

 

Video surveillance:

Legitimate interests: We base the processing of your personal data on our legitimate interest in being able to give you access to our Park and to protect our location (Article 6 (1) (f) of the General Data Protection Regulation). Information on criminal matters collected through video surveillance will also be processed on the basis of Universe's legitimate interest in resolving criminal matters (Section 8 (3) of the Danish Data Protection Act).

 

Wristband activities and photos:

Legitimate interests: We base the processing of your personal data on our legitimate interest in being able to offer good service and provide a good experience for our guests (Article 6 (1) (f) of the General Data Protection Regulation). Universe would like to point out that pictures of other guests may not be shared or published without consent.

 

Atmospheric images from the Park:

Legitimate interests: We base the processing of your personal data on our legitimate interest in being able to market ourselves, inter alia on social media (Article 6 (1) (f) of the General Data Protection Regulation). Pursuant to the applicable guidelines of the Danish Data Protection Act, we perform holistic assessment with the aim of assessing whether publication of the picture requires your prior consent.

Consent: If the holistic assessment concludes that publication requires your prior consent, we will obtain this consent before publishing atmospheric images on our channels (Article 6 (1) (a) of the General Data Protection Regulation).

 

Targeted marketing:

If you have a Universe season pass or a ticket associated to your account, e.g. because you created a Universe profile or downloaded our app, and if you have granted us consent under marketing law, we can also use the information to send you targeted marketing while you are at the park. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interest to ensure that you have a good experience with us.

 

How long do we store your data?

Recordings from video surveillance taken with the aim of preventing crime will be deleted or anonymised within 30 days of the recording, unless it is necessary for Universe to store the recording so as to handle a specific dispute, e.g. in connection with resolving a violation of the law.

Your wristband data will be kept on your account as long as it is active, after which it will be deleted. If you want this data deleted beforehand, simply contact us.

 

With whom do we share your data?

We share the personal data with suppliers of different services (data processors), which process the personal data on behalf of Universe and in accordance with our instructions. For example, we use data processors to supply IT systems, software, support or consultancy services. We will share your date with third parties in conjunction with marketing providing that you have consented thereto.

In cases of criminal actions or suspicions thereof, the recordings can be passed on to the police. Universe's video surveillance cameras are registered in the police's register of cameras. The recordings can also be passed on if so required pursuant to legislation.

 

7a. If you park in our car park 
When you park in our car park, Universe processes your personal data. We process your personal data in connection with the management of parking, which occurs with the scanning of the vehicle’s license plate at entry and exit or by the vehicle being added to our list of free parking (e.g. certain season ticket types and suppliers).


 
What information do we collect and process about you? 
When you park in our car park, Universe processes your personal data. Universe may collect, process and store the following types of personal data about you:

  • Date and time of your visit, scan time of entry and exit
  • Image of the vehicle
  • Vehicle license plate
  • Name, contact details and other information you provide in connection with the free parking list (e.g. certain season ticket types and suppliers). 

 

What is the purpose of processing your personal data? 
When you arrive at the Universe car park, a picture of the car is taken to register the entry time of the license plate. When you leave, another picture of the car is taken to register the exit time of the license plate. Your personal data will be processed for the following purposes:

  • To calculate parking fees for cars that have used the car park
  • In order to be able to enforce a parking fine in the event of non-payment
  • To manage a list of free parking
  • Statistics and analysis 

  

What is the legal basis for processing your personal data? 
Universe processes your personal data on the following basis: 
Contractual obligations: We process your personal data in order to fulfill the parking agreement concluded with you. This contract will be the so-called quasi-agreement that you have entered into by parking in one of our parking areas. (Article 6(1)(b) of the General Data Protection Regulation). 


 
How long do we store your personal data for? 
Photos taken in connection with parking will be deleted or anonymized no later than 180 days after the recording, unless it is necessary for Universe to store the recordings for the purpose of handling a specific dispute, e.g. in connection with non-payment. 


 
Who do we share the information with? 
We entrust the personal data to suppliers of various services (data processors) who process the personal data on behalf of Universe and in accordance with our instructions. For example, we use data processors to: Provide IT systems to manage parking and enforce parking fines. We will pass on your data to third parties for marketing purposes if you have consented to this.  
In the event of criminal acts or suspicion thereof, the recordings may be passed on to the police. Universe’s surveillance cameras are registered in the police’s camera register. Disclosure may also take place if required by law. 

 

7. If you arrange a school and group visit

 

What data do we collect and process about you?

When you use our online shop  or if you book by contacting us, we will process your personal data. We can collect, process and store the following types of personal data about you:

 

  • The name, email address, telephone number (possibly address) of the contact person
  •  Your payment information Universe does not have access to your full credit card information.
  • Information on your order/purchase history
  • Information you submit when you carry out a purchase or communicate in some other way with us
  • Use of discount codes
  • Digital footprints, technical data and click history (e.g. information on how you use Universe's online shop or location information, either from your mobile device or IP address)

 

What is the purpose of processing your data?

Your personal data will be processed for the following purposes:

  • After the visit, we may use the contact information for the contact teacher to follow up on the visit, including the experience of the children during the visit, the various activities, etc.

  • Contractual obligations: We process your personal data so as to fulfil the sales agreement we concluded with you, including so we can provide ordered tickets, school trips, events and/or other services and products, handle order confirmations, complaints, returns, etc. (Article 6 (1) (b) of the General Data Protection Regulation).

 

How long do we store your data?

Universe primarily process your personal data according to one or more the bases below:

  • Contractual obligations: In certain cases, the processing of your personal data is necessary so as to fulfil a contract to which you are a party (Article 6 (1) (b) of the General Data Protection Regulation).
  • Legitimate interests: We can process your personal data on the basis of our legitimate interests to manage the day-to-day operation, including safeguarding our rights and meeting our commitments in relation to the agreements etc. that we have entered into with our partners (Article 6 (1) (f) of the General Data Protection Regulation).

 

How long do we store your data?

Personal data in connection with business collaboration will generally be stored for up to 6 years following the termination of the agreement or collaboration, unless there are special considerations that justify a longer period How long do we keep your data?

 

9. If you apply for a job at Universe

When you apply for a job at Universe, we process your personal data in connection with the recruitment process.

 

What data do we collect and process about you?

As part of the recruitment process, Universe Science Park processes personal data about you on the basis of your CV, video or other material that you have enclosed in your application. We collect, process and store the following types of personal data about you:

 

  • Name, email address, telephone number
  • Other information that is stated in your application, interview or submitted documents
  • Date of your enquiry
  • Profile information in case that you complete a personal profile analysis
  • Personal data about you which is collected from a third party. For example, a former employer from whom you have consented that we collect references.
  • Universe Science Park does not process sensitive personal data about you unless you submit this information yourself. For example, because you are applying for a position where this information is necessary in the hiring process.

What is the purpose of processing your data?

Your personal data will be processed for the following purposes:

 

  • To assess if you are the right candidate for an available position at Universe Science Park.
  • To contact candidates by email, phone or some other means.
  • Statistics and analysis

 

On what legal basis do we process your data?

We process your personal data on the bases outlined below. 

  • Legitimate interests: We can process your personal data on the basis of our legitimate interest in handling your application, communicating with you and choosing among potential candidates (Article 6 (1) (f) of the General Data Protection Regulation).

 

How long do we store your data?

You will gain access to a career centre when you apply for a position with us. Here, you can always edit or delete your personal data.

If you have not logged into your career centre during the last 180 days, your data will be deleted. If you participated in the hiring process for a seasonal job, your data will, however, only be deleted after 720 days out of consideration for possible re-hiring in the following season.

 

With whom do we share your data?

We will not share your data with other companies, however inter alia, we use data processors for providing IT systems and associated support. When we use data processors, we enter into data processor agreements with the data processors so as to ensure that your personal data is only processed for that purpose and in a secure manner.

 

 

10. Sharing with other data controllers and transfer to data processors

In order to fulfil the above purposes, we may give access to your personal data to third parties that provide relevant services on the basis of a contractual relationship with Universe. This could include IT suppliers, email and marketing providers and suppliers of IT solutions. Such service suppliers will only process personal data in accordance with our instructions pursuant to the concluded data processor agreements.

 

As described in the previous section, Universe may also share your personal data with partners within social media, advertising, analysis, etc. The purpose here is to target and personalise our marketing to you through our websites or third party websites.  

 

Beyond what has been indicated above, your personal data will not generally be transferred to a third party without your consent. However, under certain circumstances and pursuant to legislation (Article 6 (1) (c) of the General Data Protection Regulation), it may be necessary to pass on your personal data to: the police, lawyers, accountants, the courts and public authorities.

 

If your personal data is transferred to data processors or data controllers based in countries outside the EU/EEA which do not have an adequate level of protection, such a transfer will be based on the European Commission's standard contracts or a different legal transfer basis, in accordance with Chapter 5 of the General Data Protection Regulation. 11. Your rights

  •  You have the right to gain access to the personal data we process about you.
  •  You have the right to object to our collection and further processing of your personal data.
  • You have the right to rectification and erasure of your personal data, however subject to certain statutory exceptions, including the Danish Bookkeeping Act
  • You have the right to request that we limit the processing of your personal data
  • Under certain circumstances, you can also request to receive a copy of your personal data or to have the personal data you have submitted to us be transmitted to a different data controller (data portability)
  • You can withdraw any consent you may have granted at any time. We will then delete your personal data unless we can continue the processing on a different basis. You can unsubscribe from our newsletter by clicking the link at the bottom of the newsletter

Our website may include links to other websites or to integrated websites. We are not responsible for the content of the websites of other companies or their practice in connection with the collection of personal data.
